Horticultural Lighting Can Customize Spectrum

Lumiled has introduced three new products for LUXEON SunPlus garden lighting LED series, and LUXEON SunPlus series is the only LED based on PPF test and distribution in the market. The combination allows people to adjust their wavelengths in greenhouse and vertical farming applications to maximize crop yields. The addition of the LUXEON SunPlus 35 series of red and deep red leds enables the designers of vertical farms and interwoven lamps to adjust the spectrum specifically for growing crops. The new LUXEON SunPlus CoB uv LED series is designed for greenhouse applications. In this application, it is the most important to realize high photosynthetic photon flux (PPF) and fast time-to-market.

The LUXEON SunPlus 35 series is optimized for shallow vertical farming, achieving a better uniformity within a very short distance. Deep red (650-670nm) and far-red (720-740nm) wavelength are added to the existing royal blue (445-455nm), greenish yellow and three different shades of blue (2.5%, 12.5% and 25% %), with a 3.5x 3.5mm package.

"This basic red wavelength combines with blue to provide the exact spectrum required for each crop. Jennifer Holland further stated that "CoB scheme enables us to maximize PPF, from a single source of PPF as high as 350 mumol /s".
